Post Office Partner Babylon - Important information

What can you do at Pošta Partner?

Issuance and receipt of parcels and letters, purchase of postage stamps, envelopes, lottery tickets, postcards, tourist stamps and business cards, banking transactions (only Poštovní spořitelna and ČSOB), issuance and receipt of postal orders (SIPO, money orders, etc.), payment of pensions.

What can't you do at Pošta Partner?

Authorization to collect pensions and postal items, change SIPO settings. Problems with postal delivery people and the functioning of the DEPA Domažlice office (delivering letters to the post office box, etc.). Verification of signatures and documents and extracts from Czech Point (extract from the real estate register, extract from the criminal record, etc.) cannot be processed at the Partner Post Office in Babylon, but you can use the door next door and the opening hours of the municipal office, where possible.

Requests that cannot be processed at the partner Post Office in Babylon can be discussed at the Domažlice 1 post office, perhaps even by ordering at a specific time. If you arrive on time, you won't have to wait so long. You can order at:  https://www.postaonline.cz/detail-pobocky/-/pobocky/detail/34401

Or you can use the nearest post office in Česká Kubica or Trhanov.

How does registered letter delivery work?

If you are not at home, the postman will drop a notice in your mailbox to collect your parcel at the post office. The notice states that you can collect your parcel at the post office that day, which is unfortunately misleading. The postman will usually take the parcel to the DEPO in Domažlice and then bring it to the Partner Post Office the following day. At the Partner Post Office, we accept and deliver mail on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3 p.m. and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. This means that if you receive a notice in your mailbox on Friday, you can only collect your letter at the Partner Post Office on Monday after 3 p.m. We also have to upload the mail received at our Partner Post Office into the system during our opening hours, so you may have to wait or you may not receive the SMS with the code for the parcel at exactly 3 p.m., but perhaps even at 4 p.m.

If you were at home and the postman still dropped a request to pick up the shipment in your mailbox, we recommend that you deal with DEPO Domažlice, Pošta Partner has no authority in this regard.

How does sending money orders, letters and parcels work?

Since June 1, Czech Post has been operating in the D+3 system, which means that regular mail is delivered only once every three days. If you want to deliver something quickly, you can use the EMS service, which guarantees delivery the next day by 2 p.m. Unfortunately, you must remember that Pošta Partner hands over shipments to DEPA at 3 p.m. (Monday and Wednesday) or 10 a.m. (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). If you deliver a shipment, package, bill of lading, etc. later, everything will be sent to DEPA the next business day.

Does it seem to you that the Czech Post system is unnecessarily complicated?

Us too, but unfortunately, as Pošta Partner we can't do anything about it. You as customers can of course complain, but if you direct your complaint to DEPO Domažlice, believe me, there are also good people there to handle it.

Can someone else pick up my letter if I lend them my ID card?

It cannot be, we will strictly adhere to this, even though it has not been done like this before. For failure to comply with this, we risk sanctions, which we, the employees, will have to pay out of our own pocket. Do not ask us for this, or ask for repeated delivery.

Conclusion

We believe that maintaining the post office in our municipality is beneficial for citizens, otherwise you would have to pick up your letters and packages in Domažlice, but at the same time we ask you to respect the rules that the Czech Post sets for us.
