cycle track Hadrovec - Babylon

Sokol's look-out (560m above sea level), view point on a Bohemian stone mound, unfortunately over-grown by a forest, with a memorial tablet of the geologist Sokol.

Walk on Charming footpath by the Bystrice stream and mill-race between Babylon and Ceska Kubice

There is a specially modified and tarmac reinforced path for pedestrians, cyclists and roller-bladers or skiers toward the Ujezd-Havlovice train stop through the forest by the road to Domazlice. The train stop could be your next destination and you could return on a tourist marked path through the forest by the rairway from Domazlice to Ceska Kubice. By the railway crossing near the Havlovice stop there is a guest-house "U tri Chodu" and the "Hadrovec" restaurant.

A two-hour trek will take you to a nearby Domazlice mountain pass, then around the Na Podkove peak and you will come back to Babylon through a big meadow above Pec.

The town Domazlice

Historic square with medieval arcaded houses, Chod castle, Chodsko museum, look-out from the leaning tower of The Church of the Virgin Mary, museum of the composer Jindrich Jindrich, The Lower Gate dated back to the 13th century, the Bezdekov Little Gate.

Vesela hora

(582m above sea level), chapel from 1695 sacrified to Saint Laurence. The track from Babylon takes us through the rest area Zelenov, around the Zelenov ponds and through the Dmout forest district. We come back to Babylon by bus or train from Domazlice. The walking part of the trip is 7.5km long.

Pila

From the large Babylon lake we walk through the forest and the small village of Pila with its railway stop Ujezd-Pila. By two ponds there are big holiday camps. Originally there was a saw-mill from the 17th century situated here.

(585m above sea level) with the monument of the leader of the Chods' up-rising Jan Sladky Kozina.

Dobra voda

You can continue over Vaclavkova mountain (534m above sea level) to a pilgrimage place (pilgrimage church from 1872 and magical well).

Trhanov

There is a summer school in Laminger castle, in the Klenci direction there is "lomikar" avenue of old lime-trees. A famous Czech doctor and writer prof.dr. Thomayer, born in the local castle, invited the writer A.Jirasek to Chodsko to carry-out historic research and literally interpret the heroic up-rising of Chods against the aristocratic subjection.

Pec

There is a lumberjack chapel of Saint Prokop from the beginning of the last century in the village. We get back to Babylon by crossing the Vejslavka forest ridge (541m above sea level).

Vyhledy

(699m above sea level), with a 12m high monument of J.S.Baar revealed in 1933, to get there we take a route through Pec.

Cerchov

(1042m above sea level), the highest mountain of Bohemian Forest, from it you can see the whole Bohemian Forest mountain range and also west Sumava and parts of both Bohemia and Bavaria.

Klencí pod Cerchovem

Museum of J.S.Baar, Saint Martin church, manufacture and sale of chod ceramics. Go back to Babylon through Chodov and Pec.

Ceska Kubice

There is a number of bus and train lines from Babylon. Charming path by the Tepla Bystrice stream. Presently a number of casinos. Ceska Kubice can be a starting point of another possible hike to Cerchov.
